COPPA Compliance & Student Safety

At Best of Texas, we prioritize the safety and privacy of all students using our apps. Our applications are designed for school-aged UIL competitors and are fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect, store, or share any personal information from children under the age of 13—or any other student users.

100% Anonymous Logins

Students access our apps using an anonymous school-wide or group login format. Because of this:

• We do not request, collect, or store student names.
• We do not require emails, phone numbers, or any social media profile connections.
• Individual student identities are never linked to app scores or study progress.

Data Collection & Technical Logs

Our servers only collect minimal, non-identifying technical data necessary for safe and secure app operations. This includes:

• IP Addresses: Used strictly for server security, request validation, and prevention of denial-of-service (DoS) or abuse. These logs are never used to track users or link activities to specific individuals.
• App Performance Statistics: We track anonymous diagnostic data and feature usage to help troubleshoot bugs and improve app functionality.

No Advertising or Selling of Data

Best of Texas is an educational resource, not an advertising platform. We commit to the following principles:

• Our apps are entirely ad-free. There are no third-party advertisements.
• We never sell, rent, lease, or share any diagnostic data, school logins, or usage statistics with marketing agencies or third parties.

Annual School-Year Data Purge

To ensure optimal performance and minimize data footprint, we purge all student practice history, app logs, and database progress at the end of every school year (typically in late June). This guarantees that every school and student starts with a clean slate for the new academic year and prevents any long-term storage of user activity logs.
